On leading by example as a father
My old man wasn't around much but when he was, every action meant something. He didn't have to lecture. Watching him carry himself with integrity taught me more than any talk could. Now I'm trying to do the same with my own kids. Making sure I keep my word, admit when I'm wrong, treat their mom with respect, show up when I say I will. It's not always easy but it feels like the most important thing I do as their dad.
That's a powerful thing to have. A dad who shows up through his actions. I'm working on being that kind of presence for my boys too.
This is exactly it. Every little thing we do teaches them something. Your old man understood that and you clearly picked up on it. That's the legacy right there.
