Been teaching my boys the right way to be men. Firm handshake, look people in the eye, yes sir and no ma'am, hold doors open, never hit a lady, respect your elders. These things matter. My oldest is 16 now and kids at school actually respect him because he carries himself with dignity. In our house we do things the right way. You give your word you keep it. You take responsibility for your actions. No excuses. Too many young men today are soft and lost. My job is to make sure mine aren't.

Yes and no. The manners and respect part is timeless. But we also need to teach our boys it's okay to feel emotions and ask for help sometimes. That's part of being a real man too.

Love this approach. Getting my boys outside in Colorado teaches them similar lessons, just with dirt under their fingernails and a good sense of what hard work looks like.

Eye contact and firm handshake are still gold. My kids learn more from watching how I treat people than anything I could tell them. Respect starts with how you show up.

I do a lot of storytime with my son and we talk about characters who are strong but also vulnerable. You can be a man and still have depth. Both matter.

The fundamentals matter. A firm handshake and eye contact go a long way. My daughter does gymnastics and I'm teaching her the same stuff, just applied differently for her.
