Respect your wife like you'd respect your mother

Had a conversation with a younger guy about marriage and he was complaining about his wife in front of everyone like she wasn't there. Told him straight up that's not how you carry yourself as a man. You protect her dignity, you speak about her with reverence, you make decisions together. Marriage is a partnership and she deserves your best self. He looked uncomfortable but sometimes you gotta say what needs saying.

Real talk, the younger generation doesn't always get this. Marriage is a partnership and trashing your partner in front of people is just asking for problems. Good on you for saying something.

This right here. I had to have a version of this talk with my buddy too. You don't complain about your wife to other guys, period. Show the same respect and loyalty you would for your mom. Solid advice.

Co-parenting has taught me this in spades. How you talk about the other parent around your kids and friends matters way more than you realize. Sets the tone for everything.
