Respecting your wife means listening more than talking

Had a breakthrough conversation with my wife last night where I actually shut up and listened instead of jumping in with solutions. She wasn't looking for me to fix her problem, just wanted to be heard. Realized I've been that guy who always thinks he knows best. Being a gentleman means knowing when your role is to listen and support, not lead. We had the best talk we've had in months.
