Southern gentleman values getting lost

Went to a family reunion last month and was genuinely shocked at how some of the younger guys act. No manners, talking back to their elders, dressing like slobs. My grandfather would have lost his mind. I'm trying to figure out how to pass along some of these values without sounding like I'm stuck in the past. A handshake that means something, showing up on time, looking someone in the eye, treating service workers with dignity. Are these things that still matter or am I just getting old?

I get it man, but I've noticed my kids actually respond better when I show them respect too, not just demand it. Maybe leading by example works better than the old way our dads did it.
