Southern Gentleman Values in a Messed Up World
My father taught me you treat a woman like a lady, you dress sharp even when nobody's watching, you show up on time and you do your job with pride. These aren't old fashioned they're just right. Been trying to teach my son these things but it's hard when social media and his friends are pulling him the other way. Last weekend I made him wear a proper shirt and tie to his cousins wedding, no complaints. Afterwards his great grandmother told him how proud she was. That's the whole point. Honor and respect aren't dead, some of us just have to keep them alive.
Man, this is exactly what I'm trying to pass down to my three. It's not complicated stuff, just doing what you say you'll do and treating people right. Your dad gave you a great foundation.
