Southern gentleman values - passing them on
I'm trying to raise my kids with the values my father taught me. Yes sir, no sir, looking people in the eye, a firm handshake, opening doors for ladies, treating elders with respect. My kids go to a good private school where these things still matter. I see too many young people today with no manners or backbone. We owe it to our boys to teach them what it means to be decent men.
This is great but make sure you're also teaching them to think for themselves. Southern values are good but you want them respectful to good people and cautious around bad ones, you know?
