Southern manners aren't dead, just dormant
Took my boys to get haircuts and they said please and thank you to the barber without being told. The barber actually commented on it. Made me realize how rare it is anymore. My grandfather taught me that manners are about respecting other people's time and dignity, not about being stuffy or old-fashioned. So yeah, my kids are saying ma'am and sir, writing thank you notes, and knowing how to conduct themselves in public. Call it old school if you want. I call it raising men.
Well said, anyone know what the main principle to being old fashioned is?
