Southern traditions worth keeping

Wrote a thank you note by hand to my daughter's teacher and my wife thought it was weird. Said most people just send an email. But my mom taught me that certain things matter, you know? Taking time to write something out shows respect. I want my kids to understand that some traditions aren't just old fashioned, they mean something. Am I the only one trying to keep these things alive?
