Standing firm on my values even though it costs me
Got offered a promotion that would require some dishonest practices. Turned it down even though we needed the money. My wife asked if I was sure. I told her I'd rather be a poor man of integrity than a rich man my kids can't respect. She hugged me. That's the kind of man I want my boys to become. Honor matters more than paychecks. Period.
Hard pass on the dishonest stuff. I've got two kids depending on me and I need to sleep at night. Sounds like you made the right call even if it stings financially.
