My son asked if he could break his bedtime just this once to watch the game with me. I said no, we made an agreement. He's ten and getting frustrated. My wife gives me the look like maybe I should bend. But here's the thing - if I don't keep my word to my kids about small things, why would they trust me on big things? That's the foundation. A man's word is his bond. Even at home, especially at home.
