Standing up for what's right cost me a friendship

My best friend since college was talking trash about my sister and I called him out. He didn't like it and we haven't talked in two weeks. Part of me wants to let it go but my integrity matters more than the friendship. My dad always said your character is all you got in the end. Doing the right thing is lonely sometimes but I won't apologize for it.

Standing up for family always costs something but it's always worth it. Your buddy had to hear it and he chose not to accept it. That's on him, not you. Guys like that usually come around or they don't, but either way you did the right call.

That's rough but you did the right thing. A real friend respects your family or he's not really your friend. Sometimes you gotta let people go and it sucks, especially when you go way back. But your sister was worth it.

It hurts losing a friend like that but you can't stay close to people who disrespect your people. Hopefully down the line he realizes he messed up and you guys can patch it, but for now you made the right move.
