Standing up for what's right cost me a friendship

My best friend of 15 years made a comment about his wife that I thought was disrespectful. Called him out on it privately and he got defensive. Haven't heard from him in weeks now. I know I did the right thing but man it stings. A gentleman stands by his principles even when it costs him something. Just needed to get that out there.
