Standing up for what's right cost me a promotion
My company wanted me to sign off on some numbers that didn't feel right. I refused and told my boss directly that it compromised my integrity. Didn't get the promotion. Some guys think I'm crazy but I sleep fine at night and my kids respect their old man. There's more to being a man than climbing the ladder. A good name and your word are worth more than money. Anyone else had to make tough calls like this?
That took guts. Promotions come and go but what you teach your kids by doing the right thing lasts forever. Your integrity is worth more than a title bump.
