Standing up for what's right even when it costs you
Had a situation at work where my boss wanted me to cut corners on a project that could affect customer safety. I respectfully told him I couldn't do it and that we needed to do it right. Cost me a promotion and honestly might cost me the job, but I sleep fine at night. My kids are watching how I handle this. That matters more than a title or a paycheck. A man's word and his principles are all he really has.
Takes real character to push back on your boss. How did he take it? Sometimes the best bosses respect you more for it, sometimes they don't.
