Had a situation at work where my boss wanted me to cut corners on a project. Not illegal but definitely not right. Told him I couldn't do it. Thought I might lose my job honestly. Turns out he respected me more for it and we found a better way to do it anyway. Sometimes doing the hard thing is the only thing. My grandfather used to say your word is all you really have.
That takes guts man. Your integrity is worth way more than whatever short-term heat you might catch from the boss. Your kids are watching how you handle this stuff too.
