Standing up for what's right even when it costs you

Had a situation at work where my boss wanted me to cut corners on a project. Told him straight up I wasn't comfortable with it and if it had to be done that way I'd have to step back. He got mad, we had words. Ended up he found another way to handle it. Lost some favor but my conscience is clear. My kids see how I handle myself and that matters more to me than climbing the ladder at all costs. A man's word is his bond.

Respect. Those moments define who we are to our kids more than anything else. They're watching how we handle pressure, and you just showed them what character looks like.

That takes guts, especially when your job's on the line. Four kids depending on me means I get why it's scary, but you made the right call. Your integrity is worth more than any paycheck.
