Standing up for what's right even when it costs you

Had a situation at work where I could have stayed quiet and gotten the promotion, but it would have meant throwing a good man under the bus. Decided to speak up and stand by my principles. Lost the promotion but slept fine. Teaching my kids that your integrity is worth more than any paycheck. Anyone else been in a spot like this?
