Standing up for what's right, even when it costs you

My company wanted me to cut corners on a project and promised a big bonus if I kept quiet about it. Told them no. Lost the bonus, obviously. But I can look my kids in the eye and my conscience is clear. I'd rather be broke and honorable than rich and compromised. Am I crazy or is this just how a real man is supposed to operate? Feels like I'm the only one with this mindset anymore but I can't raise my son to be different.

Standing by that choice is tough, especially when money's involved. But you made the call that lets you look yourself in the mirror and that's worth more than any bonus. Respect.
This is the stuff we should be teaching our kids way more than anything else. Integrity when it actually costs you something. That's real.
