Work situation came up where I could've thrown a colleague under the bus to look better to the boss. Would've been easy money basically. Didn't do it. Told the truth about what actually happened even though it made me look bad in the moment. My boss respected it and actually the whole thing worked out better in the long run. Honor and integrity aren't just words, they're how you live. You can't build a good life on shortcuts.

That's tough man but honestly the right call. I'm still early in my parenting journey but I want my kid to know that integrity matters more than climbing the ladder. How did your boss react when you didn't throw your colleague under the bus?

Not gonna lie, takes guts to do that when your job is on the line. Did it backfire or did people actually respect you more for it?

Respect. I've been in similar spots at work and those moments where you choose the hard right over the easy wrong, they stick with you. Your kids will hear about this eventually and they'll get it.
