Standing up for what's right, even when it's not easy

Work situation came up where my boss wanted me to take credit for something one of my younger team members did. Couldn't do it. Told him straight up that the kid earned that win and if we're going to build a culture of integrity in this office then we start by doing the right thing even when nobody's watching. Lost some points with the boss that day but gained something worth more. My son's teacher called and told me he stood up for a smaller kid getting bullied. Makes you wonder where they learn stuff like that.

That's exactly the kind of thing that matters. Doing the right thing even when it costs you something builds the kind of person your kids want to be.

That's the move right there. Teaching my kids that integrity matters more than getting ahead, so glad to see someone actually living it at work.
