Standing up for what's right even when it's unpopular
My coworker made a joke about a woman in our office and laughed expecting me to join in. I didn't laugh. Said that wasn't cool and walked away. Made things a little awkward but I'm not interested in being part of that. Been trying to show my kids that being a man means doing the right thing, not the easy thing. Sometimes that means standing alone. Sometimes it means being that guy who doesn't go along with the crowd. That's the kind of man I want to be.
This is teaching your kids something way more important than anything else you could do. They notice when you stand up for what's right even when it's uncomfortable. That's the example that actually sticks.
