Standing up for your wife in public

Had a situation yesterday where a waiter was being disrespectful to my wife at a restaurant. Nothing crazy but he was dismissive and rude. I calmly but firmly called him out on it and asked to speak to the manager. My wife said I didn't need to do that but that's exactly when you need to do it. A man's job is to protect his family's honor, even over small things. What's your take on this?

Respect. You handled that the right way. Three kids have taught me that how you react in those moments is what they remember, so you set a solid example there.
