Standing Up to My Boss (The Right Way)
My manager tried to take credit for my team's work in a meeting yesterday. Instead of blowing up or going behind his back like some guys would do, I asked to speak with him privately after. Told him calmly that I noticed what happened and that it wasn't okay. He got defensive at first but I stayed respectful and held my ground. He actually apologized and set the record straight with the exec team today. Sometimes you gotta stand for what's right without losing your composure or your dignity.
That takes guts. A lot of guys would've just complained to their buddies in the garage instead of actually handling it professionally like that.
