Standing up to my ex about how she's raising our daughter

Been biting my tongue for years but my 13 year old just told me her mom is letting her do things that absolutely aren't okay. I'm trying to be the bigger man here but also protect my child. Need to have a conversation that's firm but professional. How do you hold someone accountable while keeping things civil for the sake of the kids? This is eating me up.

Biting your tongue for years doesn't help anyone, especially not your kid. She's looking to you to be the parent who actually gives a damn about what's appropriate. Stand firm but stay classy.

I get wanting to stay quiet for years but your daughter telling you means she needs you to have her back. Just make sure you approach her mom calmly or it could backfire in custody stuff.

Tough spot. At 13 she's old enough to talk to about boundaries though. What kind of stuff is she doing that worries you?

Document whatever it is she's telling you. Sounds like something might need to be addressed legally or through the court if it's actually concerning behavior.
