Standing Up When a Woman Enters the Room

My oldest questioned me about why I stand when his mother or grandmother comes into the room. Told him it's about showing respect and dignity to the women in our lives. It costs nothing but shows everything. He rolled his eyes but I caught him doing it yesterday when his aunt showed up. Small victories. This is the kind of stuff that matters even if nobody's watching.

I do the exact same thing with my kids. At first my son asked the same question and I explained it's about showing respect and teaching them that good manners matter. Now he does it too without even thinking about it. Pretty cool to see that kind of thing stick with them.

Love this. It's the little things that show kids what respect looks like in action. I started doing this more intentionally after my kids were born and it's become such a natural habit now. Glad you're passing it along.

This is a great teaching moment. My oldest picked up on this naturally after seeing me do it, and honestly it's one of those small things that makes me feel like maybe I'm getting something right as a dad. The fact that your son even asked shows he's paying attention.
