Standing your ground without being disrespectful
Had a situation at work where my boss tried to throw me under the bus in a meeting. I called him out calmly and with facts but my coworkers seemed uncomfortable. I stood my ground because I earned respect through hard work and I'm not going to let that be tarnished. But I'm wondering if I should have handled it differently. Is there a way to be firm and defend yourself while still being the respectful man your mama raised you to be?
There's a big difference between standing your ground and being disrespectful, and it sounds like you know that. Did it work out okay with your boss? Sometimes speaking up creates tension but it has to be done.
