Started requiring my kids to write thank you notes

After birthday parties and gifts, my kids have to sit down and write a proper thank you note. Not a text, not a phone call. A handwritten note. My wife thought I was being too strict but honestly I think it's important. It teaches gratitude and it shows the giver that you actually care enough to take the time. That's what distinguishes a gentleman.
