Started teaching my son the value of a firm handshake and eye contact
Small thing but it matters. Had him practice with my buddies and you could see the difference. When he meets someone now he looks them in the eye, gives a solid handshake, and says it's nice to meet you. People actually comment on it. My wife thinks I'm being weird about it but I told him these are the things that show character before you even open your mouth. In a world where everyone is glued to their phone, teaching kids actual social skills feels like giving them a superpower. My dad did this with me and I'm grateful.
This is the stuff that matters. Small habits that compound. How old is he now? I'm trying to figure out when to start this with my daughter.
