Had a rough day at work but the young guy in the next department was drowning on a project. I stayed an hour and a half helping him figure it out even though all I wanted was to go home. My boss noticed and asked why I did it. Told him that's just what you do. My grandfather always said a real man lifts others up, and that stuck with me. Little things like that matter.
Good on you for that. Those are the moments that actually define a workplace culture. New guys remember who helped them and it comes back around in ways you won't even expect.
