Staying calm when your teenager tests you
My kid is at that age where he's pushing boundaries and being smart with me. What separates a man from a boy is not blowing up when you're disrespected. I stayed quiet, looked him in the eye, and said 'We can talk when you're ready to speak to me with respect.' Walked away. He came back later and apologized. That's leadership. Not yelling, not getting baited. Teaching him through your actions that a real man doesn't lose his cool.
Smart parenting. When you don't take the bait and stay level, that's when they actually start listening. My kid's learning that the hard way right now too.
