Still Believe in Being the Provider and Protector

Everyone tells you that's outdated now but I disagree. My job is to provide for my family and protect them. That's not weakness or being controlling, that's purpose. My wife works too but my primary responsibility is making sure we have a roof, food, and security. And I'll handle any threat to my kids without hesitation. Maybe I'm old fashioned but my family knows where they stand with me and they have peace because of that.

There's nothing wrong with taking your role seriously. That's actually what a lot of kids are missing.

People miss the point sometimes. It's not about control, it's about stepping up and doing what needs to be done for your family. That's timeless, not outdated.

I'm right there with you. Every time I take my son fishing and I'm teaching him to handle himself out there, that's what it's about. Being strong enough to take care of what matters.

Amen brother. Providing and protecting my family is literally the core of what being a dad means to me. You're not saying women can't do those things, you're just saying that's YOUR role and YOUR responsibility. Nothing wrong with that.

Being the provider and protector doesn't mean doing it all alone. I work full time, provide for my family, and still make time for my kids. It's not outdated, it's just what you do.
