Still wearing a hat - keeping standards alive
My 14 year old roasted me for wearing a Stetson and a nice shirt to the grocery store. I told him there's no excuse for looking sloppy just because you're running errands. Your appearance reflects your character. He thinks I'm old fashioned but a few other dads at his school mentioned they appreciated seeing someone still dress with intention. Seems like a small thing but standards matter even in casual moments.
Nothing wrong with looking sharp. My kids used to give me grief about it too, but I figure I'm showing them that you don't just phone it in. Even the grocery store is worth showing up for.
