Struggling With How to Discipline Without Looking Weak

My kids are pushing boundaries like crazy right now and I keep second guessing myself. Want to be strict but also present and involved, not some distant authoritarian figure. My old man was cold and I don't want that but I also don't want to be a pushover. How do you guys balance being firm with being fair? Need wisdom here.

Being present and involved while holding boundaries isn't weak, that's actually the strongest move you can make. Your kids need both the consistency and knowing you care enough to show up.

The second guessing stops when you realize being involved IS the discipline. Show up, set clear expectations, and follow through. That's strength, not distance.
