Taking my son fishing and teaching him patience
Every other Saturday we go out early before the sun comes up and fish at this small pond. We don't always catch much but that's not really the point. It's quiet, we talk, he learns to sit still and be patient. He's learning that good things take time and you can't rush them. Also teaching him to respect nature and clean up after ourselves. Feels like these moments matter more than anything else I could be doing.
This is beautiful man. Patience, quiet time, being present - that's teaching on a different level. Not trying to cram lessons in, just living it. I bet he remembers those mornings way more than anything you could tell him.
