Teaching Boys About Leadership and Service
Real leadership isn't about being the loudest in the room. Had a conversation with my 12 year old about this after he came home frustrated that he didn't get picked as captain. Explained that true leaders serve their team first. The best men I know aren't the ones seeking authority, they're the ones earning respect through their actions. So I told him to focus on being a good teammate, helping others improve, and being reliable. That's how you become someone people actually want to follow. Anyone else raising boys with this mindset?
Man, this hits different when you're WFH and can actually be present for these conversations. Glad he's learning early that real influence comes from how you treat people, not from being the center of attention.
