Teaching boys how to shake a man's hand
Been working with my sons on the fundamentals lately. Firm grip, eye contact, say your name clearly. Seems like something simple but you'd be surprised how many young men have no idea how to present themselves. My father taught me this and I take it seriously. A man's word and his handshake should mean something. It's these little things that separate boys from men.
Teaching this stuff to my boys too. Eye contact is the hardest part actually - they forget every time. But the firm handshake thing clicks quick once they get it.
I need to start doing this. My newborn is years away from handshakes but I want to remember this post for when he's older.
