Teaching boys respect for women starts at home

Got into it with my 12 year old the other day because he was being disrespectful to his mom. Pulled him aside and made it clear that you treat women, especially your mother, with respect. You open doors. You listen when they speak. You don't raise your voice. His generation doesn't get this stuff from school so it falls on us dads. My father drilled this into me and I'm doing the same. It's non negotiable in my house.
