Teaching my boys to shake hands properly

Been working with my 8 and 10 year old on having a firm handshake and looking people in the eye. My oldest was doing that dead fish grip thing and I finally sat him down and showed him what it means to give a man's handshake. Firm grip, eye contact, clear voice. We practiced for a week and now when we run into folks at church or the grocery store, people comment on it. That's the kind of thing that sticks with people. That's respect.
