Teaching my son how to be a man

My boy is 16 now and I realized I haven't been as intentional about passing down what it means to be a man of honor. Started taking him to work with me on Saturdays, we're doing handyman projects together, and I'm making sure he sees me treat people with respect even when they don't deserve it. My own father was distant so I'm trying to do better. You guys have any traditions or ways you've brought your sons along?

16 is that perfect age to really dig into this. What does it actually look like for you to be intentional about it? Like what are you planning to teach him?

Good catch on realizing you needed to be more intentional. A lot of dads just assume it happens by osmosis. What's the first thing you want to make sure he understands?

Sixteen is a great age to really dig into this stuff. My boys are getting older too and I realized the same thing. You're doing him a huge favor by showing him what it actually looks like.
