Teaching my son to be a gentleman in 2024

I grew up in the South and my dad instilled in me certain values about how to treat people and carry yourself. I'm trying to pass that on to my boys but it feels like the world is working against that sometimes. Opening doors for people, saying yes sir and no sir, looking people in the eye when you talk to them. These things seem basic but feel rare now. Anyone else trying to raise their kids with these principles?

That's such an important thing to pass down. I'm trying to do the same with my boys but honestly the world makes it harder now. Teaching respect and how to treat people with real empathy, not just surface level manners. What's been your biggest challenge with it so far?
The gentleman stuff matters but I think it has to be balanced with teaching kids to stand up for what's right, even if it's uncomfortable. Real courtesy isn't about just following rules, it's about treating people with actual dignity.
