Teaching my son to be a man in 2024

Raised my boy the way my daddy raised me. Firm but fair, work hard, honor your word, take care of your family first. But man the world has changed and sometimes I feel like I'm out of step. He told me I'm too tough, that I don't understand his generation. But I also see kids with no discipline, no respect for authority. How do you stay true to old values while adapting? Want to be a good father, not an outdated one.
