Teaching my son to be a man of his word

Had to have a talk with my boy yesterday because he told his friend he'd help move some furniture and then tried to back out last minute because some video game thing came up. Reminded him that a man's word is his bond and you don't make promises you don't keep. Took him over to help the neighbor anyway. He wasn't happy about it but I think the lesson stuck. It's the small moments like this that matter when raising them right.
