Teaching my son to be a man of his word

Been thinking a lot about what it means to raise my boy right. In a world where everyone's trying to get over on each other, I want him to understand that a man's word is his bond. Started having him make commitments to small things - finish his chores by Saturday, help his sister without being asked - and we talk about what it means when he keeps his word versus when he doesn't. My old man did the same with me and it stuck. Anyone else focused on this with their kids?
