Teaching my son to be respectful in this crazy world

Raised him to look people in the eye when he talks to them, say yes sir and no ma'am, and stand up when someone enters the room. He's 12 now and gets teased at school for it sometimes but you know what? Teachers and parents love him. I'm not gonna let this soft culture tell me that manners and respect are outdated. Any other dads trying to keep these traditions alive with their boys?

Love this approach. I've been doing the same with my kids and honestly it's not about being old fashioned, it's about teaching them respect starts with how you show up for other people. Sounds like your son's got a good foundation.

That's solid parenting right there. My 12 year old is hitting that same age and I'm seeing the payoff from those early lessons stick with him. Eye contact and manners open doors, no matter what the world throws at him.
