Teaching My Son to Shake a Man's Hand Properly
Had my boy's little league coach compliment me yesterday on how my 10 year old gave him a firm handshake and looked him in the eye. Made me proud as hell. Been working with him since he was about 7, teaching him that a handshake says something about who you are. It's not just about grip strength either, it's about respect and character. My dad taught me the same way and I believe this generation needs more of that. Anyone else making sure their kids understand these old traditions?
That handshake thing seems small but it's really not. Coaches and teachers notice that stuff and it says something about how a kid was raised. Good on you for teaching him that.
My 10 year old still has the weakest handshake known to man. How did you teach yours? Just practiced with him or what?
