Teaching My Son to Shake a Man's Hand Properly

Been working with my 8 year old on his handshake. Firm grip, look em in the eye, say their name back to them. My old man taught me this way and it stuck with me my whole life. Noticed kids these days don't know how to do this anymore. Took him to my buddy's BBQ last weekend and had him introduce himself properly to everyone there. The look on their faces when a kid actually gives you a real handshake and eye contact says volumes. This is the kind of thing that matters. Teaching him that how you present yourself and treat people is everything.

I'm doing the same thing with my son right now. The name part is huge, people remember that. Little details like this are the stuff they'll carry with them forever.

This right here. The handshake, eye contact, remembering a name. These small things teach confidence that carries into everything else. My 7yo is still working on the eye contact part but he's getting there.
