Teaching my son to shake hands properly

Been working with him on this since he was about 5. Firm grip, eye contact, say the man's name back. It sounds like a small thing but it matters. A good handshake opens doors and shows respect. My father taught me the same way and I'm passing it on. These little things build character.

My kid is only 3 months old so I'm taking notes on this. Never really thought about teaching handshakes as a skill but it makes total sense. Does he practice with you or do you have him do it with other adults too?
Great foundation building. One thing I'd add is having him practice saying his own name clearly too. A lot of kids mumble through it. Confidence in all three parts together makes a real difference when he meets someone important.
