Been noticing a lot of young guys these days with weak handshakes. Started working with my 12 year old on getting a firm grip, looking people in the eye, and saying their name back. He thinks I'm crazy but his baseball coach commented on it last week. Small things matter. This is how we raise men with character.

Been doing the same with my son. The eye contact piece is what took the longest to click for him but once it did, his whole demeanor changed.

This is great parenting right here. My 12 year old still does that limp fish thing and I haven't known how to address it without sounding like my own dad.

This is great. A firm handshake really does matter in the first impression department. Are you teaching him the eye contact thing too? That's usually where young guys mess up - they look away during the handake.
