Teaching my son to shake hands properly

Been working with my 12 year old on his handshake. Firm grip, eye contact, say your name clear. Kid was doing that limp fish thing and I knew I had to step in before he got to high school. My old man taught me this at about the same age and it's stuck with me my whole life. A man's handshake says something about his character. Anyone else making sure their boys learn this stuff?

Good on you for drilling that in. I'm starting to do the same with mine and he actually cares about getting it right now. Makes a real difference.

Teaching the little things like handshakes is something I need to be better about. Those small manners carry them so far in life.

At 12 he's the perfect age for this stuff too. He probably thinks it's cool that you're teaching him something real instead of just telling him to do it.
